Community.
Putting communities at the center.
At Aqualateral, we aim to better understand local water issues and the people impacted by building meaningful relationships with organizations and leaders working on the front lines of their community’s water challenges. These relationships ensure that we place human needs at the core of our investment decisions, and assess the potential impacts of different technologies on communities and individuals most in-need.

Our community partnerships are fundamental to our mission. We believe the only way to solve water insecurity for local communities—and the global community—is to empower the people experiencing its effects to guide how capital is directed towards solutions.
We are already working with incredible organizations and individuals doing the grassroots work to address local water and sanitation issues. Our work with communities remains informed by finding ways to support organizations shining a spotlight on water challenges, and to support efforts to increase public awareness of water insecurity.
Grant-making at Aqualateral
Aqualateral has two grant application cycles every year for unsolicited proposals. Applications for the current grant cycle will be accepted from July 1st through September 30th.
The upcoming grantmaking cycle is focused on supporting underserved communities located in the American Southeast that lack access to clean water and sanitation services. We seek grantees working on projects related to addressing the following problems: lack of reliable infrastructure, the high cost of water related services, or lack of awareness about water insecurity in their communities. We also support grantees who take a community-based approach towards developing innovative solutions to local water challenges.
We invite individuals and organizations working on these challenges to submit a Letter of Intent via our google form. We are accepting LOIs from July 1st through September 30th. For questions about our grant-making program, please email info@aqualateral.com.
For those working outside our current regional focus, but who are interested in applying for a grant from Aqualateral, please check back with us in January 2023.
